  • Volvo tractor pulling semi-trailer, at overnight stop. November 2006, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
  • Ice and snow control: Washtenaw County Road Commission Ford L9000 rear dump truck fitted with snow plow and sand/salt spreader, taking a quick break from salting and plowing 9" snow on Christmas Eve. Midlength plow is raised and rotated to neutral position. Ann Arbor, MI 2004.
  • Precast concrete construction, bridge constrruction: Kenworth truck tractor pulls a <br /> 120 ft long precast, pretensioned prestressed bridge girder from Grand Rapids, MI, to the Dixboro Bridge site. The red trailer with 3 axles supporting the far end of the girder is a Elk River Hydras Steer trailer attached to the end of the bridge girder. It includes steering, as demonstrated by its alignment to the left in photo, as well as brakes, all controlled by the truck driver in the pulling tractor, using control cables running on top of the girder from tractor to trailer. The trailer has a hydraulic powered fold-under tail that is lowered to provide a self-contained loading ramp for equipment loading and unloading.   • Concrete construction: Concrete ready-mix truck loaded with concrete to cast in place. Front of truck is to left, and concrete is chuted out from top, left, of the rotating drum. Primary chute is just forward of driver's front window. Additional sections of chute are attached to top of long truck rear fender, to be fitted together as needed to transport concrete further.
