Precast concrete bridge construction: Precast post-tensioned concrete module, tied cantilevered arch section bridge piers, described as V-piers, support structural steel bridge stringers/girders/beams. Sloped arch sections consist of hollow field-precast reinforced concrete segments (as shown in foreground) tied together by post-tensioned steel cables. Wood forms on top of pier are for cast in place pier cap and tie into two post-tensioned horizontal precast reinforced concrete tension tie beams that will carry the outward thrust of the two pier segments.
