My Construction Photos > Construction scaffold: Welded steel tubular modular scaffold with 2"x10" wood plank platforms and toe-boards. 2"x4" lumber guardrails inserted into slots in integral ladders, in conjunction with steel tube cross-bracing provide some, though not adequate, fall protection. Interior structural steel has been sprayed with fireproofing insulation. Cold-formed sheet metal studs will provide support for wall cladding. Ann Arbor, Michigan 2005.

My Construction Photos > Building construction, stucco: Large crew applies stucco (exterior plaster) over concrete block walls of multistory residential building. Scaffold is welded tube modular scaffold sections that fit together and provide steps at 2' o.c. for workers to climb, as at midheight right. Stucco is mixed on ground in a mixer and hoisted onto scaffold by rope (across middle of picture) and pulley. A worker is pulling stucco bucket onto scaffold planking in middle right of picture. Stucco has been applied near top, and crew is working on different portions at different levels. Fall protection is provided, loosely, by cross bracing and by tubing passed through the lowest step of outside scaffold ladder, though this in incomplete. Ft. Myer Beach, November 2005.

My Construction Photos > Masonry construction: Welded tubular scaffold, stacked 3 high with cross-bracing, for erection of concrete block exterior wall, to be covered on outside with brick vineer. Left and right sections of scaffold have two open bays without cross-bracing at upper level, to provide access for forklift to place set mortar pan and concrete block material, to be distributed along wall for masons to erect the wall.

My Construction Photos > Steel construction: Structural ironworker inserts bolt through bottom flange plate and bottom flange of beam with left hand and screws on nut from top with right hand. Bottom flange plate was earlier welded to the steel column to left in the fabrication shop. This is the last of 5 bolts on the near side, to which another 5 bolts will be added in the bolt holes shown in background. All bolts will later be torqued tight to transfer forces from beam to bottom plate by friction.
