My Construction Photos > White-GMC truck tractor pulls trailer of large form panels into which concrete will be placed for basement walls of single family residences. Pittsfield Village, Michigan, March, 2007.
My Construction Photos > Construction safety, fall protection: Worker supported by pipe on rear of gang form moves from one bay to the bay on its right, maintaining his fall protection by moving his two safety lanyard-hooks one at a time from his left side to his right. (He has moved from left of the blue-circled point to right of it.) Photo provides close-up view of galvanized steel (gray) turnbuckle columns that slope down from left to right, that can be rotated to push/pull form face against/away from the concrete. Michigan 2006
My Construction Photos > In background from far right to left are (1) concrete basement walls with forms removed, (2) vertical reinforcing steel for concrete basement walls still to be cast. (3) Gang forms in place for casting basement wall, (4) vertical reinforcing steel for concrete basement walls still to be cast. Sitting away from basement walls are 3 gang forms used for basement walls. Ashley Terrace, Huron St, Ann Arbor, Michigan 2006
My Construction Photos > Bridge construction, steel construction: Erecting prefabricated panels of a Mabey steel truss panel temporary bridge over the Merrimac River on Route 113. Ironworker on top of erected panels guides crane operator, facing toward us, while ground man guides panel into place. Panels are connected by single driven pin at bottom and bolted connection at top. Tyngsborough, MA 2005.

My Construction Photos > Pier, foundation construction, concrete construction: Cast in place concrete pier caps/tops showing horizontal profile to support precast concrete retaining wall panels at proper elevations. The near piers have completed pier caps and have not yet been backfilled with soil. The far piers beyond these have steel pier cap forms in place to receive the pier cap concrete.Huron Parkway, Ann Arbor, Michigan 2005.
My Construction Photos > Pier, foundation construction, concrete construction: Formwork for concrete that will next be cast to create the pier cap that will provide accurate elevation alignment for precast concrete panels of the retaining wall. A steel plate between the flanges of the structural steel H-section soldier beam forms the top of the pier cap/top that will support the precast concrete panels. Vertical pieces of plywood align the circular steel form for the periphery of the pier cap. C-clamps anchor vertical wood blocks that support and align the steel plate and the plywood pieces. Reinforcing steel bars from the piers reinforcing steel cage extend from the top of the existing concrete and provide shear capacity that supports the pier cap from horizontal movement. Huron Parkway, Ann Arbor, Michigan 2005.
My Construction Photos > Pier, foundation construction, concrete construction: H-section structural steel soldier embedded in reinforced concrete pier. Right background are two reinforcing steel cages that will be inserted in hole to reinforce concrete in pier, and top of reinforcing steel cage is shown at top of the first two piers shown here. Concrete pier caps will be cast on top of these piers to support and align the concrete precast panels of the retaining wall. Huron Parkway, Ann Arbor, Michigan 2005.
My Construction Photos > Bridge construction, steel construction: One of each pier in the last/west two sets. Top of near pier has two sets of rollers for the bottom chord of the Mabey Bridge to be pushed onto and to be supported as the bridge frame is pushed to the far pier. Each roller has a perpendicular bolt that is tightened against the roller to lock it when the frame is not being pushed. The bolt for the left near roller is prominently shown in the center of the inset detail. Appearing beyond the rollers is timber cribbing that forms the top of the last pier on the left side, which will support the bridge frame at the end of its erection and push from the east bank. Tyngsborough, Massachusetts 2005.
