My Construction Photos > Saber-toothed cats/tigers (smilodon californicus) were abundant in North America during the Pleistocene period, starting 7 million years ago. Harvard Museum of Natural History, Cambridge, Massachusetts, June, 2007.
My Construction Photos > Kronosaurus queenslandicus, cretaceous period, Queensland, Australia. Kronosaurus was a pliosaur (short-necked plesiosaur) and largest of group. This skeleton, 42 ft long is most complete known, discovered in massive blocks of Cretaceous age limestone (135 million years old) in Queensland, Australia. Portions of skull, backbone, paddles had weathered away, but enough remained that missing pieces could be restored. Harvard Museum of Natural History, Cambridge, Massachusetts, June, 2007.
My Construction Photos > 1939 Sikorsky VS300A Helicopter, maximum speed 60 mph, one of a kind, the first helicopter to use a practical single-rotor design, flown and demonstrated by Igor Sikorsky. Henry Ford Museum, Dearborn, Michigan. August, 2006.
My Construction Photos > The 1910 Bleriot XI is the smallest, lightest plan buiilt to that time. Pilot sat in open without seat belt or safety restraints. It was easily shipped and could be assembled with common tools and takeoff in just nine hours. Its engine was 7 cylinder air cooled with 50 mpg maximum speed. Henry Ford Museum, Dearborn, Michigan. August, 2006.
My Construction Photos > Josephine Ford, the Fokker trimotor airplane that flew Richard Byrd to the North Pole on his 1926 Polar expedition. Henry Ford Museum, Dearborn, Michigan. August, 2006.
My Construction Photos > 'This Wright Flyer is the world's most accurate reproduction of the original 1903 Flyer. Just weeks before the Centennial of Flight celebration in December 2003, this Flyer made several successful flights at the Wright Brothers National Memorial in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. Trained pilots attempted to fly this reproduction on Dec. 17--exactly 100 years after the Wright brothersÂ’ original first flight. Unfortunately, rain and low wind speed prevented the Flyer from getting up in the air on that day.

'The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) commissioned The Wright Experience of Warrenton, Virginia, to build this authentic reproduction in celebration of 100 years of flight. As a sponsor of "EAA's Countdown to Kitty Hawk," Ford Motor Company generously donated this Flyer to the collection of The Henry Ford.' Henry Ford Museum, Dearborn, Michigan. Photo in August, 2006.
