My Construction Photos > Sewer construction, masonry construction: Worker builds drain basin for storm sewer using portland cement mortar and curved concrete blocks. Mortar is mixed in mixer and transported in white plastic bucket (lower left). Worker first uses his hands to take mortar from bucket and place it on concrete block. He then places concrete blocks in mortar. Lastly, he spreads mortar over the inside surface of the drainage basin. A drain basin is where storm water draining from stree (such as through corrugated black plastic flexible tubing) flows into the main storm sewer. Huron Parkway, Ann Arbor, Michigan, 2005.

My Construction Photos > Masonry construction: Lull 8K-42 rough terrain forklift lifts and places mortar box on material platform of Hydro-Mobile self-lifting scaffold. Worker on scaffold holds left guardrail gate open after already having opened right guardrail gate. Bricklayers standing on the bricklayer level are laying brick. Lull 8K-42 has 4-wheel drive, 3-way steering, and 8,000 lb capacity, and its hydraulic telescoping boom has 42 ft reach. Biomedical Engineering, North Campus, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, 2004.
My Construction Photos > Masonry construction: Lull 8K-42 rough terrain forklift lowers forks and backs up placing mortar box on material platform of Hydro-Mobile self-lifting scaffold. Worker on scaffold closes left guardrail gate and will next close right guardrail gate to provide fall protection. My Construction Photos > Masonry, brick, block, construction: Brick layers on scaffold to left lay bricks for exterior walls. Yellow scaffold is welded tubular modular scaffold, with 2"x10" S4S dimensional planks layed across scaffold frames to form work and material platform(s). Lower center is masonry saw station. Mortar is mixed at lower right. SkyTrak rough terrain fork lift is just to right of center midground. East Ann Arbor UMHS Clinic, Plymouth Rd, Ann Arbor, Michigan, 2005.
My Construction Photos > General, masonry, construction: Communication within busy construction crews. Two workers in right foreground discuss their work on manhole and rear entrance to building. Worker at left is talking dramatically to his foreman. Worker in center rear gives directions to backhoe operator. Alley between Washington and Liberty, 1/2 block West of Main, Ann Arbor, Michigan, 2005.
