Worker pushes concrete buggy to concrete placement position after filling buggy from laydown concrete bucket at edge of floor. Worker will tilt the buggy forward to place its concrete, and then return to this point to load additional concrete. Ashley Terrace, Ann Arbor, Michigan April, 2007.
Laydown concrete bucket delivers fresh concrete through its bottom gate valve to worker powered concrete buggy at building floor edge. Worker operates gate valve lever with right hand. Bucket is supported by crane. The natural tilt of the laydown bucket allows it to extend inside the floor edge, held in place by the wire cable perimeter fall protection, in this instance. Worker will push concrete buggy to concrete placement position and tilt it forward to place its concrete, and then return to this point to load additional concrete. Ashley Terrace, Ann Arbor, Michigan April, 2007.
Worker carries dimension lumber on shoulder to provide support for cast in place concrete forms and/or fall protection, as we see around him. Worker in rear is performing rough carpentry on such lumber. Mosher Jordan Renovation and New Dining Center, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, March 2007.
Placing basement/foundation wall concrete. Worker on right holds last section hose/tube to direct cast in place concrete into top of wall form, as boom lowers hose/tube into top of form. Worker on left is moving concrete vibrator to extend it down into freshly placed concrete to consolidate the concrete and bond successive concrete lifts. Wall forms are gang forms built from Peri Trio wall form panels lifted into position by crane. Mosher Jordan Renovation and New Dining Center, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, March 2007.
Placing basement/foundation wall concrete. Concrete pump truck boom extends to right to place concrete in wall forms for basement/foundation wall. The pump truck and concrete ready mix trucks are hidden by pile of dirt that will later be used for backfill and landscaping. Mosher Jordan Renovation and New Dining Center, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, March 2007.
White-GMC truck tractor pulls trailer of large form panels into which concrete will be placed for basement walls of single family residences. Pittsfield Village, Michigan, March, 2007.
Advance concrete readymix truck travels to construction site to place cast in place concrete. Concrete drum is rotated slowly at agitation speed to continue its mix and delay set of concrete until it is placed in its forms. Yes, the white lumps in the foreground are yesterday's snow. Ann Arbor, Michigan, March 2007.
Steel frame supports horizontal rebars for cast in place concrete beam. Top steel is supported at proper height by a transverse rebar, and height can be adjusted by small chain fall. Top steel supports U stirrups, which can themselves support horizontal bottom steel. Note that steel rebar cage sags under its own weight and requires additional support along its length. Colorado Street, Denver, Colorado, December 4, 2006.
At far end, steel frame supports horizontal rebars for cast in place concrete beam. Top steel is supported at proper height by a transverse rebar, and height can be adjusted by small chain fall. Top steel supports U stirrups, which can themselves support horizontal bottom steel. Resteel sags under its own weight and needs additional support along its length. The resteel extends grade beams at near end, which has top steel exposed to bond to concrete slab floor. Colorado Street, Denver, Colorado, December 4, 2006.
