Pipe/steel, underground construction: Caterpillar 312B crawler mounted hydraulic backhoe/excavator has lifted and set (unseen) large bore steel pipe in trench it straddles. It is now crowding pipe toward itself and previously laid pipe by reaching out backhoe boom and bucket and pulling it toward backhoe. The far worker in trench observes the gap between new and previous pipe and uses hand signals to direct backhoe operator.
