Scaffold sections are supported against lateral loads (loads from the side) by steel cross braces. Cap beams span stirrup supports and themselves support steel/aluminum stringers, which in turn support aluminum joists that parallel the cap beams. Joists support sheathing, probably plywood, which directly supports the cast in place concrete. A similar structure supports the other end of joists.
