Concrete construction: Temporary support for cast in place (CIP) reinforced concrete structure for multi-story building in Los Angeles. The vertical shores under the upper slab, from which forms have been removed, are reshores to distribute the new floor's concrete construction loads to the floor(s) below. Therefore, as slab forms are dismantled, vertical shores are placed to help support the coming floors above. Reshores have been removed from the lower floor(s), as shown here, as floors were added above. A two unit material hoist on left side of photo currently services two floors. A Gradall all terrain telescoping boom fork lift is on the right, with boom collapsed. In foreground is concrete form and shoring laydown area. Wilshire Blvd, Westwood, Los Angeles, CA, 2004.
